Key Smokeball Features Released in 2017
Automatic Time and Activity Tracking
You told us that a major pain point was tracking your time and activities to bill your matters. Hours were being lost to non-billable administrative tasks.
We developed Smokeball with automatic lawyer time tracking software to eliminate this painful non-billable task. Every task, document, email, meeting, or memo created in Smokeball is tracked and made available for invoicing with no user interaction. If you created a letter or motion in Smokeball, we track the actual time spent on that document and associate it to the matter. There’s no need to keep contemporaneous records or to “reconstruct” your timesheets at the end of the week or month. Smokeball does it all for you.
Time and Billing
We introduced our legal time and billing feature in 2017. With Smokeball, you can track your time, expenses, and then send your clients invoices through Boost Billing. Our integration with Boost Billing enables you to maintain ethical legal accounting practices, staying on top of your operating and trust accounts. You are able to accurately capture your time, invoice clients faster and get paid faster by accepting credit card payment using our LawPay integration.
Profitability and Firm Insights
Smokeball is the first and only legal practice management software to provide insights into your practice with a click of a mouse. We introduced matter profitability, analyzing your employee costs and fees billed. New dashboards were released revealing your firm’s performance, lead analysis, fee analysis, and usage statistics. Simply using Smokeball enables you to obtain data for you to make data-driven decisions.
Tasks & Workflow Improvements
We improved our Tasks and Workflow features by enabling you to assign to multiple staff members, attached documents and forms, and allow for greater transparency and accountability in your firm.
Track Every Phone Call – VOIP Ring Central integration
In the latest version, we released our first integration with a VOIP provider (Ring Central) to track every phone call you receive. With our integration with Ring Central, the duration of every phone call is tracked, associated to a matter, and available for invoicing with little to no user interaction. Imagine yourself taking phone calls and not having to worry about how long it was for, not having to record who it was with or creating a time entry to invoice the client.
