Whether it's a wildfire threatening your law office, a flood cutting off access to your building, or an unexpected medical event that brings your practice to a standstill, one fact remains: Colorado attorneys are not immune from catastrophe. It's important that we prepare for our futures — whether that means disaster planning or, on a happier and more optimistic note, succession planning.
This CLE webinar, led by attorney Jordan Turk, is designed to help Colorado lawyers like you prepare for a disaster, execute a plan of action in the moment, and resume practicing as quickly as possible. Jordan will share how you can best prepare and respond to disasters (or plan for a well-earned retirement) with an emphasis on upholding your ethical obligations to your clients and your firm under the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct.
In this CLE webinar, you’ll learn:
Ethical issues surrounding natural and manmade disasters
How to properly protect confidential information during chaotic events
Tips for mitigating the impact of future disasters
How to look to the future with succession planning
Duration: 60 minutes.

Jordan is a practicing attorney in Texas, and the Director of Education and Attorney Development at Smokeball. Her family law expertise includes complex property division and contentious custody cases, as well as appeals and prenuptial agreements. In addition to her family law practice, she’s passionate about legal technology and how it can revolutionize law firms.
Jordan graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Classics, History, and Religious Studies and then went on to attend the University of Arkansas School of Law to earn her J.D. After almost four years of practice with a high-asset family law firm in Houston (and after being frustrated at the lack of automation in her firm), she discovered the world of legal technology which ultimately brought her to Smokeball.
In Hacking Law Firm Success with Jordan Turk, she interviews law firm founders about how they grew and scaled their practices, as well as their ethos behind managing a firm.
