Whether it’s a hurricane impacting your Houston law office (hello, Harvey), or an unexpected medical event that brings your practice to a standstill, one fact remains: attorneys are not immune from catastrophe.
And although you can’t always anticipate a disaster, you can prepare your response and make sure the train stays on the tracks when the unexpected happens. Also be mindful that your ethical obligations do not evaporate just because something, be it natural or manmade, hits your office.
This FREE Texas CLE webinar, led by Austin attorney Jordan Turk, is designed to help lawyers like you prepare for a disaster, execute a plan of action in the moment, and resume practicing as quickly as possible. “Disaster” isn’t limited to freak weather events: Texas lawyers need to also be prepared for unexpected illnesses or health crises, as well as cyber-attacks and data breaches. Jordan will share how you can best prepare and respond to disasters, with an emphasis on upholding your ethical obligations to your clients and to your firm.
In this FREE Texas CLE webinar, you'll learn:
Ethical issues surrounding natural and manmade disasters
How to properly protect confidential information during chaotic events
Best practices for restoring and rebuilding your workspace
Tips for mitigating the impact of future disasters
Succession planning in the face of an unexpected health crisis
Webinar duration: 60 minutes.
This webinar qualifies for 1.0 Hour (0.5 Ethics) CLE credit in the state of Texas.*
Jordan is a practicing attorney in Texas, and the Director of Attorney Education and Development at Smokeball. Her family law expertise includes complex property division and contentious custody cases, as well as appeals and prenuptial agreements. In addition to her family law practice, she’s passionate about legal technology and how it can revolutionize law firms.
Jordan graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Classics, History, and Religious Studies and then went on to attend the University of Arkansas School of Law to earn her J.D. After almost four years of practice with a high-asset family law firm in Houston (and after being frustrated at the lack of automation in her firm), she discovered the world of legal technology which ultimately brought her to Smokeball.
In Hacking Law Firm Success with Jordan Turk, she interviews law firm founders about how they grew and scaled their practices, as well as their ethos behind managing a firm.
